■前回の架空ドラマ「リミット」
U鉄鋼のプロジェクトが開始。しかし、開発途中で、他プロジェクトが炎上し、要員のほとんどが引き抜かれてしまう。残されたのは、PM今野、エンジニアの神野、森下、テストエンジニアの市ノ瀬。「このプロジェクト見捨てられたらしいっすよ」

このように、システム開発の途中で、「開発人員削減」は、意外によくあることです。特に、スキルのあるエンジニアは有数なので、ある部門で1つのプロジェクトが火を噴いた場合、その火を消すために、他のプロジェクトから優秀なエンジニアをかき集める → 他のプロジェクトが回らなくなり火を噴く という文字通りの延焼。この延焼をきっかけに、倒産したり、合併されたりした会社は…… 結構あります、合掌✋。

今野：SIerであるHシスの若手PM
🆕坂垣：U鉄鋼のシステム部員。お客さま。だけど中間管理職。
神野：Hシスの下請会社のベテランプログラマ
森下：Hシスの下請会社のプログラマ。肥満体。
市ノ瀬：Hシスの下請会社の若手テストエンジニア。
■悪魔のささやき。仕様変更の嵐。
U鉄鋼の打ち合わせルーム。U鉄鋼システム部の坂垣と仕様について打ち合わせをしている今野。
坂垣：「いやー、今野さん、毎回すみませんね」
今野：「（すまないと思ったら、やめてくれよ）はぁ」
坂垣：「必要な機能だから、どうしても取り込みたくて、ついつい」
今野：「（何がついついだ）そうですね」
坂垣：「じゃ」
今野：「いや、待ってください。これが最後の変更ということでいいですか」
坂垣：「え？ それは上とか下と相談しないと。じゃね」
今野：「待ってください、坂垣さん」
部屋から手をヒラヒラさせながら、出ていく坂垣。変更依頼書を片手に、うなだれる今野。
開発ルーム。
今野：「すまない。また変更だ」
市ノ瀬：「えー」
神野：「……」
森下：「（汗）（打）（鍵）（汗）（打）（鍵）」
今野：「どうしても必要な機能だそうだ」
市ノ瀬：「あんた、無能っしょ」
今野：「何」
市ノ瀬：「昨日も、同じこと言ってたし。そもそも客を説得して、変更を止めてくださいよ、PMでしょうが」
今野：「何」
市ノ瀬：「このプログラマさんたち、何も言わないから代弁するけど、いいかげんキレるっす」
今野：「仕方がないだろう、客の要望なんだから」
市ノ瀬：「客の言うことなら、何でもするのかい、あんた」

市ノ瀬：「ちょっと、クールダウンしてきます」
部屋を出ていく、市ノ瀬。
■見捨てられたエンジニア
U鉄鋼の裏にある業者出入口。そこで、携帯電話を開き、電話をかける市ノ瀬。
「もしもし、市ノ瀬です。ここからいつ抜けれるんですか。本当にひどい状況です。ええ。早く、新しいプロジェクトに引っ張ってください。で、今度はSEとして。……。え？ そんな。待ってください。いやいや、約束が違います。見捨てないでください。約束したじゃないですか」
携帯電話を持ち、ぼうせんと立ち尽くす市ノ瀬。
「もう、だめだ」
ペキっと携帯をへし折る市ノ瀬。壊れた携帯電話を投げ捨てる。
■回転する椅子
U鉄鋼の工場の開発ルーム。
市ノ瀬が坊主椅子に座り、くるくる回っている。
市ノ瀬：「おーい、まだできないのかよ」
神野と森下は脇目もふらず、キーボードをたたいている。
今野：「市ノ瀬さん。昨日発生した仕様変更に対応しないといけないんですよ」
神野：「……」
森下：「（打）（鍵）（打）（鍵）」
市ノ瀬：「ま、受けちゃったものはしゃーないよね」
坊主椅子でくるくる回る市ノ瀬。
今野：「みんなすまない」
頭を下げる今野。
市ノ瀬：「頭下げればいいってもんじゃない。あんた、客交渉できない人っしょ」
今野：「何」
市ノ瀬：「もう、何、何って、なんとかの一つ覚えっしょ。NOという言葉くらい辞書に登録しといてくださいよ」
今野：「む」
市ノ瀬：「ま、み、む、メェェ」
神野：「……」
森下：「（打）（鍵）（打）（鍵）」
市ノ瀬：「あんたが仕事を増やすと、終わらないでしょ。やってられるか」
椅子を止め、今度は逆回転で回る市ノ瀬。視線を神野と森下に向ける。
市ノ瀬：「やっぱ、コーダーってアレっすよね」
今野：「何だ」
市ノ瀬：「（冷たい目で神野を眺め）ソルジャーだなって」
神野：「……」
森下：「（怒）（怒）（怒）」
今野：「市ノ瀬さん！」
市ノ瀬：「何すか、尻尾PMさん」
神野：「……」

椅子を回すのをやめ、立ち上がる市ノ瀬。

市ノ瀬：「体調不良で早退っす。いいですよね、テストなんてまだ必要ないし」

開発ルームから出る市ノ瀬。
今野：「もう、どうすれば（机をたたく）」
■逆階級社会
U鉄鋼の一室。キーボードをたたく音がしている。向かい合った机に神野と森下。その横に今野が座っている。少し離れて、市ノ瀬が、常位置となった坊主椅子に腰かけ、マンガを読んでいる。
市ノ瀬：「ねぇ、尻尾さん。暇なんでしょ、テストエンジニアさまにお茶を入れてよ」
今野：「自分で入れろ」
市ノ瀬：「えー、こんな時間まで拘束して、茶もくれないんすか」
開発ルームの時計は11時を指している。
今野：「（机の隅にあるポットからコップにお茶をそそぐ）ん」
市ノ瀬：「まぢい」
口から吐き出す。机の上の設計書がうす緑に染まっていく。
市ノ瀬：「近ごろのプロマネって、茶も入れられないのかよ。プログラマ以下だな」
今野：「……」
神野：「……」

市ノ瀬：「まだプログラミングっすか」
今野：「頑張っているんだ」

市ノ瀬は、神野の後ろに立ち、モニターをのぞき込んだ。

今野：「じゃまをするな、市ノ瀬さん」

神野の後ろから、森下の後ろに移動する市ノ瀬。

悲鳴が聞こえた。そこには一人の男が倒れていた。
